SMALL WORKS: Inventions for the Body
- "My work explores the relationship between kinetic mechanisms, human motion, and our responsiveness to wearable objects. Each piece relies on human power—the turn of a hand—to function and complete its intent. These works elevate the fundamental devices—like the screw and linkage systems—that humans have evolved over time to simplify life, repurposing them as vehicles to deepen the connection between a wearable’s function and the wearer’s interaction. I am captivated by the small scale: creating miniature sculptures that can be held in the palm of a hand or integrated as an extension of the body."
